Lovely elegant and full bodied red wine made from a blend of Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera grapes by the cooperitive producer Due Palme in the southern region of Puglia. One of the true sensations in 2008 according the Gambero Rosso.
The wine ages for 9 months in French oak barriques (Troncais and Allier) after vinification and 4 months on bottle
Pairs very well with roast, game and ripe cheese. Drinktemperature is 18° C. Drink until 10 years after the year of production.
Producer Information
Cantine Due Palme is situated in the very south of Italy in the region of Puglia. Cantine Due Palme is an agricultural cooperative company established in 1989 by 400 members, growers of authoctonous grape varieties like Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and Primitivo.
Other nonative varieties are also produced like Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Cabernet
Sauvignon and Merlot, black and white Pinot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon.
Black grapes represent 85% of the total production. The production per year is around 6.000 tons of grapes and the winery has a storage capacity of about 100.000 hectoliters with French oak barrels, French oak tonneaux and Slavonian oak barrels.

Author: Peter van J. Erg lekkere wijn! Als je regelmatige grote wijnen drinkt als Brunello of Barolo, dan is dit een superwijn om door de week te drinken. Ben je niet gewend Brunello of Barolo te drinken dan kun je deze wijn zonder je te schamen voorschotelen als de Koningin ineens onverwachts komt eten :-)
