About the wine
This is true great red wine, made from 80% Aglianico and 20% Piedirosso by Galardi, a very tiny producer from Campania. This wine is probably the biggest cultwine in Italy. Very much saught after and a true masterpiece. A must for every serious connoisseur and collector.

The 2007 Terra di Lavoro is perhaps the best ever made. International press is very enthousiastic so far.

Terra di Lavoro was firstly made in the beginning of the 90's by three cousins. The wine was immediately a big hit and since Robert Parker discovered this gem from Campania, the world went crazy for this wine. Robert Parker never scored this wine less than 95 points which is remarkable effort from this tiny estate.

Pairs very well with roasted meat and game. Drinktemperature is 16-18° C.
Drink until 20-30 years after the year of production.

Producer Information
The winery of Galardi is owned and run by a group of three cousins Maria Luisa Murena, Arturo and Dora Celentano, and Francesco Catello who are firmly dedicated to make wine of the highest quality and has therefor committed themselves hiring one of the world's best oenologist, Riccardo Cotarella. They try to maximize the intrinsic characteristics of the native grapes Aglianico and Piedirosso through attentive and careful vineyard management.

The Galardi winery and the hillside vineyards are located at approximately 1,300 feet above sea level and benefit of an ideal growing conditions, such as climate and exposure. The winery is set among beautifull chestnut groves in the high hills of Sessa Aurunca, in northwestern Campania, and on a clear day the Mediterranean can be seen in the distance.

This estate produces just one wonderful wine: Terra di Lavoro which is highly saught after! The name of their praised icon wine Terra di Lavoro or “Land of Work” in Italian, reflects the soil composition in the area which is extremely rocky, thus difficult to cultivate.

The yields and total crop is very low. So, only about 10.000 bottles are produced each year although the winery will have almost 30 acres under production in the future. The owners and Cotarella decided to focus on the native varietals Aglianico and Piedirosso

The Terra di Lavoro is a must for wine connoisseurs around the world. It brings exceptional value considering the price tag.
